Trace the Braves back, back, back—from Atlanta to Milwaukee to Boston—and then from the Braves to Bees to Rustlers to Doves to Beaneaters—and eventually you arrive at the Boston Red Stockings/Red Caps of this seminal period. Team owner Arthur Soden claimed back-to-back N.L. pennants in 1877 and 1878. This trio spans 1878 to 1881 and measures 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". The two certificates for recipient A.B. Babcock have bold Soden signatures, while the one to recipient George Appleton has a lighter Soden example. FR to GD due to peripheral wear.
