Description

A fascinating figure, Wilcy Moore was a 30-year-old rookie on the most famous team in baseball history and racked up a 19-7 record with a league-leading 2.28 ERA and 13 saves, making him the Yankees' first star relief pitcher. After his 6-season career, Moore farmed cotton in Hollis, Oklahoma, from whence these checks come. There are two sizes—6-1/4" x 2-3/4" and 7" x 2-3/4". Condition averages EX and "8-9" signatures overall, with about half the signatures being in pencil. Auction LOA from JSA.
