How did Cincinnati Reds GM Bob Howsam reward the Big Red Machine for sweeping the entire 1976 postseason and dominating the Yankees in the World Series? By trading away the team's heart-and-soul leader Tony Perez. The Class of 2000 Hall of Fame inductee played the three seasons of this 1977-79 labeling period with the Montreal Expos instead. His 35.5", 33.8-oz. H&B bat is a GU 10 beauty with outstanding use, including a very slight handle crack, numerous stitch impressions and ball marks (such as black-ink transfers and white leather scuffs), red bat-rack streaks, and a uniform number notation "24" on the knob. Perez signed the lumber not once but twice, in blue marker then also in ballpoint pen. Full LOA from PSA/DNA for game use. Auction LOA from JSA for autograph.
