Description

Baseball's head honchos are collected, with this Commissioner multi-signed first day cover. From the "here's one you don't see every day" department, this commemorative envelope is postmarked 9/24/69, for the first day of issue of the 1969 Baseball Centennial postage stamp. Seen at left are images of "Babe" Ruth and the Baseball Hall of Fame, and a total of (5) autographs are located down the center and at right. Rating as average ("9-10") strength examples, these Commissioner autographs account for (5) of the ten men who have held the office to date, with: "Happy" Chandler (HOF), Bowie Kuhn (HOF), Peter Ueberroth, Bart Giamatti, and Fay Vincent. A few unobtrusive pinholes are noted at the top left corner, otherwise the cover presents handsomely. Auction LOA from JSA.
