Bulldogs, tigers and race horses, oh my! These creatures play the star roles, in this group of (3) Willard Mullin original cartoons. Mullin, who died in 1978, churned out decades worth of yearbook and program covers for New York-based teams, and also did work for magazines and newspapers. Here we have (3) framed pieces, that are all signed by Mullin, with: (2) measuring 15-1/2 x 22-1/2", that were created for Yale vs. Princeton Ivy League football games; and (1) 17x19 piece that's related to Louisville thoroughbred horse racing. While the cartoon pages show light to moderate signs of age-appropriate wear, all present handsomely, however the frames show considerable wear. Both of the Yale/Princeton pieces have editorial blue pencil notations on the margins at top and bottom, supporting the authentic nature of these vintage cartoons. Fans of Mullin who enjoy his humorous take on the world of sports, will certainly enjoy these classic creations.
