Almost 70 years since his death, Jim Thorpe has been back in the news lately. First, in July, he was reinstated as the sole winner in the 1912 Olympic pentathlon and decathlon (gold medals that had been stripped from him ostensibly because he broke the amateurism rule by being paid to play minor-league baseball). Then, in August, a bestselling new biography was released, called Path Lit By Lightning: The Life of Jim Thorpe. This 110-year-old Olympic program measures 10" x 12-1/2" and hails from the Stockholm Games. It features Thorpe's striking full-length photo in his Team USA uniform, along with a pole-vault action shot. GD condition.
