As both Philadelphia and Detroit rosters supplanted the Yankees with runs of successive American League pennants during the 1920s and 1930s, Hall of Fame backstop Mickey Cochrane was the field general and two-time Junior Circuit MVP. Shortly after his retirement, Cochrane authored a personal account entitled Baseball: The Fans’ Game. This first print hardcover edition (1939, Funk & Wagnalls) is autographed by Cochrane (d.1962). Executed in black in on the fly leaf, Cochrane’s potent scripting shows (“9”) quality and is preceded by a “Best Wishes” salutation. Full photo LOA from JSA.
