Filling the role of third base coach Willie Randolph helped guide the 2002 New York Yankees to a tremendous 103-win season. Presented is a pair of Randolph signed pants game worn during the 2002 season. Displaying in excellent condition with light signs of authentic use, these classic Yankees pinstripe pants are signed inside the waistband with a personalized note as follows “To Barry and a Lasting Relationship, Willie”. This first name only signature shows bold (“9”) potency despite some minor fabric pulls. Auction LOA from JSA.
The fabric pulls noted above marginally affect the signed name "Willie", however the signature and personalized salutation appear to have been applied by means of a heavy black felt-tip marker pen and all writing remains very bold. Also located inside the waistband are several tags including a Russell Athletic size “36” factory tag, a material type tag and a name tag which reads “30-Randolph-35/38-31-02”. The zipper, waistband snap buttons, belt loops and rear pocket buttons are all firmly attached and function smoothly. Generally this garment is bright and retains high degree of elasticity. Light scattered soiling is present, mainly in the vicinity of the upper portion of the right leg and right rear pocket.
